I have spent over 25 years in the field of education, 16 of which have been in special education. As a seasoned educator, my background includes a Montessori classroom, a regular education classroom, a special education classroom, as well as virtually and in a co-taught classroom.  Most of my experience has been at the Preschool/Kindergarten level, but I have also taught and tutored higher grade levels. My leadership skills include mentoring new teachers, as well as designing and delivering technical assistance and professional development to improve educational services and outcomes in school districts around Ohio. I am also well-versed in compliance with the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

My undergraduate degree is in Montessori Education, and my Master’s degree is in Special Education, both from Xavier University.  I hold the Ohio Lead Professional Educator license for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Additionally, I have a Prekindergarten Special Needs endorsement, a Reading endorsement, and a Teacher Leader endorsement added to my license. In 2015, I was awarded Master Teacher Certification from the school district that I worked for. Recently, I also received my Principal Licensure from the University of Dayton.

My various experiences and vast knowledge of educational settings, curricula, and philosophies will allow me to help your child succeed to his/her full potential. I will use my expertise to aide you in using the Montessori philosophy and activities but adapt it to your child’s needs using my special education experience. All of the tools in my toolbelt will be available to you and your family!
